Justin Humphrey Architect is a design-focused architecture and interiors practice based on the Gold Coast.

From large private houses to small renovations, we approach each project with an open mind and desire to create site-responsive, functional, considered and exciting spaces designed to enrich the lives of our clients.

Collaboration with our clients and builders is central to how we work, and allows us to deliver exceptional and tailored projects that respond to both brief and budget.

We are a small practice which allows us to guide projects personally from an initial sketch idea through to completion.

Our design process is driven by considered design ideas, rigour & the tangible value of great architecture. We believe in the need to understand the personal and complex detail of daily life. We believe that great design can improve the way we live.

M Arch / Queensland University of Technology

Justin established his own architecture practice in 2016 after a 10-year career working for several award winning firms. His experience has been built working across residential, multi-residential, renovations and small commercial projects.

Away from the office, Justin can be often found surfing, playing golf, seeing a band or spending quality time with the family.

Justin is a dedicated and proud dad and tends to spend many hours teaching the values of form, space and order to his children via Lego and play dough.

Vanessa Humphrey

Practice Manager

Vanessa is the long-suffering engine room of the practice.

She keeps things ticking, legal and in the black.

Vanessa provides a fantastic dose of rationality and sensibility to all Justin’s grand ideas.

She is a fantastic mum and can often be found at the beach, baking or working in the garden with the kids. She also has a strong connection to her country roots and we all love heading out west to spend time on the farm.

Lauren Smith

Architectural Assistant

Lauren juggles her work in the office with finishing her architecture degree at Griffith University and being a great mum to her 2 beautiful daughters.

She brings much-needed maturity to the office and has experience in the tourism sector and has also worked for Gold Coast City Council.

Lauren is developing a keen eye for detail and assists greatly with design development and documentation within the office.

She also has a nasty fear of heights and can lay claim to being the only person to have stopped the Wheel of Brisbane to get off after a single lap.
