Amber House — Where ancient forest meets the Pacific Ocean.

Amber House is sited on the top of a sweeping coastal-grassland valley in Bundjalung Country. It is shouldered by ancient littoral forest and looks east over the Pacific Ocean. The bushrock base of the house seems to emerge from the earth and combines with the roofline to read as a pair of parallel lines set against the hillside. An almost transparent skin allows complete immersion with the private natural context, with regulated privacy where required. Materials chosen are warm, tactile, of their place, and make every effort to connect our clients to their precious coastal setting.
