This involved the fitout of a medical centre on the far north coast of New South Wales. A mix of materials and textures provide an element of refinement to what is, out of necessity, a robust and functional series of spaces. The warm timber and painted battens of the child-friendly waiting room elude to the coastal location of the centre. Subtle design cues encourage patient movement down through to the consultation rooms. Our clients required the ability to isolate certain areas of the centre after hours to accommodate other professionals and this was achieved through a series of discrete thresholds.
